Carol Ann Duffy, the first Worldloppet Master, passes at age 89
We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Carol Ann Duffy of Hayward, Wisconsin, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Carol was the first Worldloppet Master earning diploma number one in 1980 along with her husband Tom who earned diploma number three. Back in 2018, for the 40th anniversary of their beloved Worldloppet, they reflected on the good old times of 1980.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Martin Yackel and Mabel Yackel (Olson). She is survived by : her husband Tom; her children, Peggy Johnson (Bruce), Kevin Duffy (Michelle), Patrick Duffy (Shelley), Tim Duffy, Colleen Someck (Jimbo), Tom Duffy (Karen), Shannon Hofer (Chris), Brigid Donnellan (John), Brian Duffy (Holly), Sean Duffy (Rachel) and Amy Checchin (Jake); and her brothers, Roger, Kenneth James, Richard and Norman. She is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, July 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph
