Hayward Area Chamber Welcomes 2025 American Birkebeiner Participants and Spectators!

The Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all the participants of the 2025 American Birkebeiner, as well as those who have traveled here to support them! This iconic event, one of the largest cross-country ski races in the world, is back in our picturesque town, bringing together athletes, families, and fans from all corners of the globe. Whether you’re here to race, cheer on a loved one, or experience the thrill of winter sports firsthand, Hayward is ready to provide an unforgettable experience.

While this message is being crafted before final plans for this year’s American Birkebeiner are set due to the unusual snow conditions, one thing is a given – our beloved Downtown Hayward, along with businesses throughout the area, will be ready for you!

During your stay, you’re going to find an abundance of restaurants offering everything from hearty comfort food to lighter, health-conscious options. Our local spots feature warm, unique, and inviting atmospheres, ideal for a relaxing meal with friends and family or a post-race celebration.

In Downtown Hayward alone, you’ll find favorites like the Social Kitchen & Cocktails which offers a sophisticated yet cozy setting perfect for unwinding, with a menu featuring a blend of classic comfort food and innovative dishes along with a wide selection of cocktails.  Main Street Tacos offers a casual vibe that serves up mouth-watering tacos, burritos and more, with fresh ingredients every time.  Backroads Coffee is the place for your morning latte, along with daily lunch specials or a delicious and nutritious smoothie.

Looking for a long-time Hayward staple?  Look no further than Angler’s Bar & Grill, known for its friendly atmosphere, hearty delicious meals, and cold beer.  You’ll also find an abundance of tap selections at 3 Fly Sisters Taps & Wines, with wine by the glass or bottle and light appetizers in an inviting and unique atmosphere.   Eddy’s on Third represents another great choice, featuring an eclectic mix of recipes and ingredients, with ideas sourced from around the world.  Visit our dining tab at haywardareachamber.com for further details on these and other dining establishments throughout the area.

Additionally, anyone familiar with Downtown Hayward knows we boast an array of shops, often showcasing the work of local artisans and offering everything from handmade gifts and unique souvenirs to top-notch outdoor gear.   Be sure to check out downtownhaywardwi.com, as it’s an excellent resource for shopping information.
