The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that promotes healthy active lifestyles among people of all ages and abilities through year-round outdoor recreation activities and events. Becoming a member of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) is your chance to ensure that future generations have the opportunity to challenge themselves outside, creating memories that shape their lives and their communities.
As a member of the ABSF your support allows us to continue to steward the Birkie Trail System, develop and maintain new trails at Mt. Telemark Village, offer youth programming such as Birkie Trail Kids, expand Birkie One Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusivity (DEAI) initiatives, and grow Birkie Green sustainability projects.

Perks You Only Get During the Membership Drive…
Early Registration
You get to register early for the 52nd Annual Slumberland American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet, Prince Haakon, or Open Track event when you become a member during the spring membership drive. Non-members have to wait until May 1, 2025 to register for these events. Birkie Week 2026 is scheduled for February 18-22, 2026.
Custom Bib
If you become a member during the spring membership drive and register for an event (52nd Annual Slumberland American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet, Prince Haakon, or Open Track), you will receive a custom race bib with your name on it, so on race day everyone will know you support the mission of the ABSF!
Here’s How it Works
When you sign-up to become a member of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation between April 14, 2025 and April 21, 2025 (11:59pm) you can select your membership level and unlock early registration for the 2026 Slumberland American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet, Prince Haakon or Open Track races! Plus, you’ll get your name on your bib!
You will complete your membership transaction and race registration as two separate transactions. Once you complete your membership you can access race registration.
- Become an ABSF Member
- Register for your chosen event: 2026 Slumberland American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet, Prince Haakon, or Open Track events. (4/14/25 – 4/21/25 ONLY)
- Membership Types: All individual ABSF memberships with early race registration = 1 custom bib
The Fine Print
- If you choose to ski multiple events, the custom bib offer applies to one race only.
- If you change your race, technique or wave after May 15, you will no longer receive a custom bib.
- Your first name and last name will be placed on the bib as tied to your official Birkie participant data record.
- You must become an ABSF member and you must register for the 2026 American Birkebeiner, Kortelopet, Prince Haakon, or Open Track between April 14 and 11:59pm on April 21, 2025 to get your name on your bib!
- You will receive your wave confirmation email sometime after May 1 when 2026 Birkie Week registration officially opens.
- If you prefer to join the ABSF as a Member and not register for a race you can do that at any time starting April 14th.
Support Mt. Telemark Village and enhance your experience by being a Mt. Telemark Village Supporter. Your support helps make possible the ongoing maintenance of the fantastic trails and facilities, youth programing, diversity initiatives, and sustainability projects, while also enjoying benefits from our partner businesses. You can add on your Mt. Telemark Village Supporter Card at any time during the year! The year runs from April 1 – March 31 and member benefits are subject to change based on the season and the available offerings from our partners. Benefits are offered to the individual 18 years and older for $75 and the donation is tax deductible.

Individual memberships allow you to choose the options that matter most to you and let the ABSF give the best benefits in the most efficient way possible. - Does my membership automatically renew?
Yes, once you sign up for your 2025/26 membership it will automatically renew but you can make changes to your automatic renewal in your registration account at any time. - How do I get Ben’s Insider Scoop?
