Birchlegger Skiers & the Birchleggings Club

Become Part of the Birchlegger Legacy

Skiers who have competed in 20 or more American Birkebeiner racers receive the designation of Birchlegger Skier. Birchleggers embody the spirit and endurance of this iconic skiing event and allow its legacy to be carried into the future.

Birchleggers are celebrated by:

  • Commemorative award upon completing 20, 30, & 40 American Birkebeiner races as a testament to a skier’s commitment and achievement.
  • A distinctive purple and gold bib is awarded to skiers participating in their 20th and subsequent races. 30-year participants receive a black and purple bib as a mark of their enduring commitment.
  • Invitation to the Birchleggings Club Awards Breakfast, held annually on the Sunday after the American Birkebeiner.

Most Birchlegger status skiers become a member of the Birchleggings Club. The Birchleggings Club is a non-profit that exists independently from the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation, although the two organizations work closely together to support each others’ missions. For information visit their web site at: www.birchleggings.com and their Facebook page.

Every Sunday following the American Birkebeiner® the Birchleggings Club hosts a breakfast for its members. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. If you are completing your 20th, 30th or 40th Birkie this year CONGRATULATIONS on this accomplishment.
